◎Stylish

Charm ① Beauty at an Art Level
Even though the fretwork design is a card case, it has a beauty that you cannot take your eyes off of. The pattern is a traditional motif that has been used in many works of art like Japanese yukata patterns and architecture. It is geometrical and flat yet has a three-dimensional pattern. By using glossy metal material, it gives off a modern and smart feel. It is a piece of art that you can carry around with you and weighs less than 50g (1.7oz).

・SAKURA (Cherry Blossoms)

Sakura are the national flower that represents Japan. They have a meaning of "prosperity" or "richness" and are often used as a design for kimonos worn at celebrations.

Gross weight of 38.0g/1.3oz (money clip 20.5g/0.7oz)

・SEIGAIHA (Blue Sea and Waves)

This is a pattern that makes you feel the grace of the sea. In a design of infinite waves, it is a design that has you wishing for continued happiness and a peaceful life.

Gross weight 35.2g/1.2oz (money clip 17.7g/0.6oz)

・KIKKOU (Tortoise Shell)

Kikkou means tortoise shell, and is derived from turtles protecting themselves with their strong shell and live a long life. A lucky pattern that is used for longevity, health, safety, and praying for economic fortune.

Gross weight 46.2g/1.6oz (money clip 28.7g/1oz)

Charm ② Craftsmanship
The technique used for fretwork is also something you might see in antique wooden furniture. Such a complex design was difficult to mechanize so it was made by hand, but this card case was made by machine. We cannot help but boast the delicate technological strength that is a quality that is unique to Japanese factories. This is an excellent technique for fiber laser processing that is used when making objects like eyeglass frames.

Charm ③ A Particularity of the Materials and Manufacturing
 ■High-Strength Material

The card case body is luxuriously made of a 5mm/.02” thick solid plate of 7075 aluminum alloy, which boasts high strength comparable to iron despite being an aluminum alloy. Despite being a metal, it is surprisingly light weighing 17.5g/0.6oz.

■Manufacturing That Takes Beauty Seriously

The body of the card case has a well-calculated balance of curves and surface warpage.

Without treating it, the glossy surface takes advantage of the material’s properties. As a result, there is no need to worry that the materials like the plating will peel off due to deterioration over time, which allows the case to be used for a long time.

We have updated the shape from a more rounded one to a sharper curvature that gives off the same image as a Japanese katana.

We at HN-WORKS are metal molding processing technology specialists that is a private brand of Koushin Kanagata Seisakusho. We can manufacture using high technology.

◎ Functionality

We have reached an era where practically all payments can be done via card or phone. "I want to be cashless, but I feel better if I have a couple of bills on me." A card case that has a money clip is great for this type of minimalist.

Can Store 4 Cards

Unlike leather wallets and card cases that expand the more cards you put in, this case does not change in thickness regardless of holding one or four cards. The pocket does not unnaturally expand and can be used stylishly and simply.

When you get on the train, take out your train pass from the case and touch it to the reader.

Automatically Holds the Card in Place (Original Spring Mechanism)
Cards are securely held with a "click" by a specially designed spring mechanism. This special mechanism is an original invention. Since it holds the card securely, it will not come out unless you push it out (with your fingers).

We have two options for you to choose from when it comes to the design of the plate! For those that wish to still carry around some money with them, you can choose the Money Clip reward. For those that wish to go completely cashless, you can choose the flat plate! Both can be removed and switched out, and both offer some skimming protection thanks to the metal used to make the plates.

*Please note that the preventive effect of the equipment intended for skimming has not been verified.

The money clip is designed so that it even if it has been removed from the card case it can still function as a neat little money clip!

If you do not have money on you and are concerned about the thickness of the protruding part of the money clip, we recommend the flat plate.

A money clip or a flat plate

Size: 68.8mm (2.7”) X 94.9mm (3.7”) X thickness 7mm (0.27”) (money clip part 10.5mm/0.4”)
Card Case: Weight 17.7g (0.6oz)

Case Material: 7075 aluminium alloy

Money Clip Material: Stainless steel 304

We will deliver the card case in a special package that has the impression of the heart of Japanese gifts. (The product will be wrapped in washi)

You can maintain the glossy finish on the surface of the case for a long time by using a metal polish daily for fine scratches and cloudiness.

HN-WORKS

HN-WORKS is a brand from Koushin Kanagata Seisakusho, a company that looks to design and manufacture metals moulds for injection type moulding and blow type moulding. Primarily, we apply detailed mold processing technology to 7075 aluminium alloy and duralumin A2017, creating original fretwork products. Currently, we design and manufacture accessories such as iPhone cases, business card holders, and earrings, and sell them online.

In 2016, we opened a branch office in DESIGN FESTA Vol.46.
In 2019, we joined the NPO Made in Japan Project.

iPhone case

Something that is not in the world, something that other people do not have. It is from that concept that HN-WORKS manufacturing begins.

We sent a sample to a person in North Carolina and not only did they like the design but also the functionality. We also sent a case to the owner of a well-known luxury restaurant in New York. They were very impressed when we sent a picture of it. It is through this project that we would like to know what kind of evaluation the items we made overseas will get, and we would like to make the best use of it for challenges in the future.

This Project is promoted by Japankuru Funding, Bringing Japanese Products to the West!
