Does your bag move around a lot while wearing it?

The combined force of the load on the shoulders while standing and walking is reduced by fixing it to the back using the shoulder straps. The analysis demonstrated that it reduced shoulder stress by up to 41%.  (For M size)

Using a strap on the tote bag and fixing it to your back will distribute the load better rather than not using one.

At the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, we measured the interlocking of the subject and the bag using a motion capturing system and a small 3-axis force sensor.

By suppressing the movement of the bag while walking, it approaches a more natural walking state and drastically reduces various stressors that occur on the body when walking with a normal tote bag.
 

The conventional tote bag has the disadvantage that the handle easily slips off the shoulder. By using a strap on the tote bag, the bag can be fixed to the body, eliminating the extra stress and hassle of slipping off.

It is a completely new tote bag that took over 10 years to create by using Newton's physics and the wisdom of the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

The ideal structure was developed based on the above three parts of the evaluation test data. The patented strap secures the bag to your body, greatly reducing physical stress caused by unwanted movement and sliding.

We ordered various parts and materials from all over the world, made countless prototypes, and completed the tote bag with extreme attention to detail.

Inside are two convenient pockets ① a zipper pocket ② an open pocket.

The zipper on the front of the tote bag is waterproof. It also protects it from sudden rain submersion, so you don't have to worry about theft or falling things. You can also open and close it from either side with the W slider!

The trigger was the flooding of the factory due to heavy rainfall. On a summer night in 2011, a large typhoon struck mainly in the Kanto and Tohoku regions of Japan, and the warehouse we rented flooded due to a flooding of a nearby river.

The water level in the warehouse reached 70 cm/27.5”, and most of the items were flooded. Since we had to get the wet items out as soon as possible, when we arrived at the warehouse at 9 am the next morning, more than 90% of the products were completely submerged. To be honest, I was utterly stunned and speechless.

Most of the items submerged were shoes, towels, and clothes, and the boxes were so heavy due to absorbing so much water. But I decided to carry the soaking wet things out by myself. Since I did not have a dolly, I decided to pack as much wet and soaked products as I could into the tote bag I brought and carry it out of the warehouse.

For several hours I hung a heavy tote bag on one shoulder while carrying my things. I began to experience strong pain in my shoulders and lower back resulting in my body hurting and I couldn't move. While I was carrying it I would twist my body around to ease the pain a bit and eventually I found that it became a lot easier and less stressful carrying the tote bag once it was in the center of my back.

I attached the tote bag to my body using the PP band I found, which resulted in being extremely efficient and allowing me to carry everything out by 3 pm. This experience led me to wonder if I could make a tote bag that can be fixed to one’s body, which would be something people found useful and use every day. With the advice of Associate Professor Maruyama, who is in charge of biomechanics at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, we took about 10 years to complete the evaluation test. This is FIXTOTE's first memorable overseas expansion project!
